December?!

Holy wow! December has crept up on me quickly! Just a quick update because I am a busy bee. I have finals for college this week, just one more to go and I'm officially on break! I have lots of Christmas shopping left to do. I will hopefully be going out with my brother today to get some items checked off the list. The apartment is all decorated for the season :) I'm very excited for Christmas, though its easy to forget the true meaning. We remember Jesus came to be born as a baby and live here on earth only to die on the cross for our sins. What an incredible savior we have!!!

This Time of Year is Magic

It's that time of year!!! Christmas is in less than one month away! Spent the day out at the mall shopping today. Bought tons of christmas gifts along with stuff for myself  {oops} happens every year. I always want what I get for other people! I need to stop and be satisfied. I am super excited to give my family and friends something they will love! Got a lot more shopping to do but I'm off to a good start :)

Living for Jesus

I want to live a life for God. I believe that if you truly want a great life, you have to know God personally. I was raised a christian so people assumed I was a christian by association. But that isn't true. Even though I accepted Jesus into my heart at a young age, my relationship with Him didn't start until my late teens. I fully understood how God was working in my life and realized how much time I had wasted thinking about myself. There's nothing wrong with thinking about others or youself, but living for God should be the number one priority. Lately I have tried just laying out my problems to God and not stressing over them. I trust that He will give me the outcome that is supposed to happen according to His will amd not mine. I always try and plan out my life even far into the future and I know full well that God will give me opportunities in HIS timing, not mine. My prayers are asking for patience and to enjoy every bit of my journey with God.

I'm no longer a teen tomorrow! Turning the big 2-0. :) crazy to think about, time needs to slow down! I have so much to be thankful for😊

Hello, Thursday

The past couple of days i have just tried to be thankful for everything. I was on my way to work on Tuesday and thought, you know what, todays gonna be a good day. I prayed that God would let me take pride in my work and that people would see the happiness in my eyes and wonder where it came from. I work as a waitress so I know there can be difficult customers or difficult  people to work with. However, I noticed how much easier my day went. I always go to work with a bad attitude but that is long gone. I felt so excited to great every table, bus every table and even doing my sidework. It definitely showed how my attitude had changed just by my tips. People picked up on how genuinely happy I was. From now on, I am going to go to work with an open mind and a thankful heart.

How is summer ending?!

I have been such a busy bee lately! This month in particular has been quite the busy month. I just recently got my schedule for the fall semester of my first year of college! I am sooo happy I decided to take a year off and decide what I wanted to do. I didn't really know if taking the year off would actually help or not, but it really did. I not only decided on a major for college, but I also strengthened my faith in God. I am rarely sad anymore and I feel like a whole new person. I feel like I have started my life over and am ready to make good decisions and be the me I have wanted to be for a long time now. I think I'm fully ready for the road ahead of me with a lot of new opportunities and changes.

The first big change started on August 1st. I moved in to my very first apartment. What?? How am I getting so old? I packed up my things from my parents house and moved into an apartment just 20 minutes away from home. You would think it wouldn't make you that homesick still being so close, but it's still pretty odd! You have all of this freedom and you don't quite know what you're gonna do with it. However, I am starting to feel like an adult. I mean come on I got excited about buying dish towels and glassware.

Another big change in my life was one of my best friends leaving for basic training. Only a couple of days after I moved in and trying to get settled I had to say bye to her for 7 months. That is just insane to me! A lot happens in 7 months and I wasn't ready for her to leave. So for now it's written letters to her. Still waiting to hear from her!

The next big change happens this week on the 22nd. My best friend since about the age of 2 will be moving an hour and a half away. This will be the longest we have ever been apart. I'm hoping to attend her college next year! In 2013 it was a rough year and I made a lot of bad decisions. Unfortunately, I have to pay the price this year by going to a different college than my best friend. But, everything happens for a reason and I'm ready for whatever God has planned for my life :)

Last step, college here I come! I can't wait to start this chapter of my life! woohoooo :)

Busy Summer!

Wow June and July are flying by! How does this happen?! Seems like just yesterday that winter was ending. Anywho, let me update y'all on my summer. Lots and lots have happened in just a few short months! At the end of May my best friends and I went on a camping trip to Kelley's Island. I had never been camping before so it was absolutely necessary that this trip happened. It was about a three hour drive there and we packed a full trunk with us. here are a few pictures from our adventure :)

So that was only the start to my summer! Next on the agenda was Siesta Key June 13th! Me and my friend Kara, Kara's sister and her sister's boyfriend all drove down to Florida together. Their grandparent's own a condo down there so we had a free place to stay which was so nice. We left on the 13th around 8 am, we drove 9 hours the first day and about 7 hours the second day and we were finally there!

I got back on the 21st from my vacation to Florida. The action doesn't stop here though. All through the vacations and other plans I have been working on becoming an operational supervisor for my job at Steak N Shake. Pretty much what that is, is a manager who doesn't work as many hours as a full time manager. But, I am taking it very seriously and I'm really excited about it :) I finally have earned the right to wear "manager clothes" so I was excited for that too. Obviously being a manager is not easy, I have been working extra hard and some of my hard work is starting to pay off!
